Jensen McRae is preparing to release her highly anticipated sophomore album I Don’t Know How But They Found Me! on April 25th, accompanied by a new single, “Praying For Your Downfall,” and a series of headlining tour dates spanning North America, Europe, and the U.K.

In “Praying For Your Downfall,” McRae reflects on the healing process after a difficult breakup. She’s moved past the bitterness and negativity and now simply wishes her ex will receive what they deserve. Co-written with Sam de Jong, who also worked on Gracie Abrams’ “Close to You,” the track offers a softer, more reflective take on post-breakup emotions. McRae describes the song as a continuation of the themes explored in her July release, “Massachusetts.”

Both tracks defy typical breakup song tropes, challenging the extremes of devastation and anger. Instead, McRae explores the quieter moments of acceptance, where healing begins and the intensity fades. As she explains, “‘Massachusetts’ and ‘Praying For Your Downfall’ are both about the less intense feelings, like the moments of surrender when you realize you have to give up on being devastated and furious.”

Fans are eagerly awaiting I Don’t Know How But They Found Me! as McRae continues to redefine the breakup anthem with honesty and nuance.
