Jisoo of Blackpink has made an explosive solo debut, with her first EP, Amortage, soaring to the top of the iTunes Top Albums Chart in 39 regions.
Released to massive success, the four-track album earned over 5 million Spotify streams on its release day and sold an impressive 385,000 copies within the first 24 hours, setting a new record for a K-pop solo artist this year.
The music video for her lead single, “Earthquake,” quickly became a viral sensation, racking up over 19 million views in just three days and hitting No. 1 on YouTube’s trending music video list. In a recent interview with Billboard, Jisoo revealed that Britney Spears’ iconic “Baby One More Time” music video inspired her, citing its pop energy as something she aimed to capture.
Following the success of Amortage, Jisoo is set to embark on her first solo fan meetup tour, visiting seven cities across Asia.
