Iconic space-rock pioneers Hawkwind are set to unveil their latest studio album, There Is No Space For Us, on April 18, 2025. Building on the dystopian themes explored in 2024’s Stories From Time And Space and the expansive Live At The Royal Albert Hall triple disc, the new album delves deeper into humanity’s cosmic journey, blending electrifying psychedelic rock with metaphysical reflections on existence.
From the thunderous synth-driven opener There Is Still Danger There to the haunting atmospheric layers of Space Continues (Lifeform), the album takes listeners on an interstellar adventure. Highlights include the acoustic-tinged The Co-Pilot, which morphs across its 8-minute length, and the title track, There Is No Space For Us, which embodies the essence of a “space western.” Neutron Stars presents a frenetic theremin-fueled outburst, while A Long Long Way From Home offers a melancholic, poignant crescendo.
With contributions from Dave Brock, Richard Chadwick, Magnus Martin, Doug MacKinnon, and Tim “Thighpaulsandra” Lewis, There Is No Space For Us will be available on CD and double vinyl, the latter featuring bonus live rehearsal tracks. The album coincides with a series of spring and summer live performances.
