Big Thief has unveiled a new EP, Passional Relations, as a benefit for those affected by the recent wildfires in Los Angeles. The five-track collection, which features unreleased songs recorded between 2018 and 2020, aims to support the recovery efforts in the region.

The EP includes tracks such as “Imagination” and “Light as Light,” both recorded in 2020 with Dom Monks, and “Waiting on Blue,” which was made with Scott McMicken of Dr. Dog. The song “Zombie Girl” was recorded in the same year with Sam Owens, while “Shadow Too” dates back to 2018.

Big Thief has pledged that most of the proceeds from the EP will be donated to the PLUS1LA Fires Fund, which supports local nonprofits providing shelter and care to wildfire victims. The remainder of the funds will go directly to local musicians, artists, and community members affected by the disaster.
