Jelly Roll is gearing up for an unexpected collaboration with Christian Contemporary artist Brandon Lake. The country-rap sensation teased this exciting duet, set to release on February 7, with a powerful remake of Lake’s song “Hard Fought Hallelujah.”
Originally featured on Lake’s 2024 album of the same name, the track will now receive a bold new layer as Jelly Roll adds his impassioned vocals and distinctive artistry. The song deeply resonated with Jelly Roll, who shared, “I haven’t had a record touch me like that in so long. It’s been years since I worshiped the way I worshiped to that song.”
Reflecting on his personal journey, Jelly Roll explained that while he carries his faith with him, he is also open about his struggles, including feeling wounded by the Church in the past. Yet, he emphasized how much he needed the message of Lake’s song at this stage in his life.
This collaboration marks Jelly Roll’s first new music since his October 2024 album Beautifully Broken, which explores both his tumultuous past and the brighter future he envisions. The release of “Hard Fought Hallelujah” will add yet another inspirational chapter to his ongoing musical evolution.
