Seventeen-year-old country artist Ty Myers has officially entered the music scene with the release of his debut album, The Select, on Friday, January 24. The 16-track project, released through RECORDS Nashville/Columbia Records, is a testament to Myers’ deep musical roots in Austin, Texas.
Music runs in Myers’ family. His father, a songwriter, frequently performed in local Austin venues, while his grandmother played piano in church. These influences shaped Myers’ early connection to music. “My earliest memory is sitting at a bar top at four years old,” Myers shared, reflecting on his upbringing. “I was always just locked in on music.”
By the age of eight, Myers was already writing his own songs. Three years later, he was performing alongside his father at songwriter swaps in local venues, steadily building his presence in the Austin music scene. “We would do songwriter swaps at local places, just trying to get my foot in the door a bit,” he recalled.
For The Select, Myers collaborated with renowned producers Tommy Detamore and Brandon Hood. The young artist described the album as a fusion of his diverse musical influences. “This album is a real culmination of all of my influences. I blended everything that I love into one, hopefully unique, sound,” he explained.
With The Select, Ty Myers delivers a collection of songs that embody his Austin roots and showcase his potential as a rising star in the country music world.
