Country Rapper Upchurch And The Dixielanders to Perform in Canton

by Patria

Upchurch, an independent artist, will perform with his band The Dixielanders on October 10 as part of “The Civil Tour.” The band released an 11-song album called Creeker 3 in April. This album highlights Upchurch’s ability to switch between musical styles, from traditional country to classic rock and hip-hop.

This concert marks Upchurch’s second appearance in Stark County. He previously headlined a show in June 2024 at the Stark County Fairgrounds. Canton will be the only stop in Ohio on this tour, which includes 32 cities across the U.S.

According to a news release, the tour promises “a no-holds-barred concert experience.” Upchurch said, “This tour is about getting loud, getting real, and connecting with fans face-to-face. No gimmicks. Just good songs, tight players, and a lot of noise.”

Upchurch is known for popular songs like “Holler Boys,” which has more than 126 million views on YouTube. His song “Hillbilly” has also gathered over 50 million views.

Born Ryan Upchurch, the artist releases music under his Luce-N-Up label. He has more than 3 million followers on Facebook and nearly 1 million on Instagram.

Upchurch is a prolific artist who has released albums frequently since 2015, often putting out two albums each year. In 2024 alone, he released Blue Genes II and Turbulence.

His band, The Dixielanders, includes drummer Molly Rose, guitarist Tyler Landess, and bassist Ethan Maltsburger.

The upcoming tour will focus on the darker, heavier sounds from Creeker 3. The album ranges from slower songs like “Honeysuckles & Rain” to intense tracks like “Massacre,” which features growling vocals and strong guitar riffs.

Other notable songs by Upchurch include “Ballad of a Country Boy,” “Donald Trump,” “Country Way,” “Necks Too Red,” “Silver Circles,” “Son of the South,” and “Bloodshed.” The video for “Rolling Stoned” has been viewed over 147 million times on YouTube.

In 2017, Upchurch collaborated with Jelly Roll on the song “Running on Fumes.” Jelly Roll has since found success in both country and pop music. The two artists also worked together on the songs “Blame Us” (2021) and “Vows” (2022).

Upchurch first gained fame on YouTube, where he posted humorous skits as characters like Upchurch the Redneck. His YouTube channel has over 3 million subscribers.

The Civil Tour begins on July 18 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. It will make stops in cities such as Attica, Indiana; Saginaw, Michigan; Green Bay, Wisconsin; Temple, Arizona; Portland, Maine; Reading, Pennsylvania; Bloomington, Illinois; and Syracuse, New York before arriving in Stark County.

Tickets can also be purchased in person at the Civic Center box office, located at 1101 Market Ave. N in downtown Canton, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on weekdays.
