Busan to Hold Free Outdoor Classical Music Concert at Citizens Park on June 7-8

by Patria

The city of Busan and Classic Busan will host the 2025 Classic Park Concert on June 7 and 8 at 7 p.m. The event will take place at the Hialeah Lawn Square in Busan Citizens Park. This free concert allows residents to enjoy classical music outdoors before the official opening of the Busan Concert Hall on June 21.

Now in its third year, the Classic Park Concert aims to build excitement for the new concert hall. It also introduces classical music to a wider audience in a relaxed, informal setting. The concerts are open to everyone and do not require tickets. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

On June 7, the first day features a gala concert led by conductor Kim Sang-hoon. The performance will include world-famous soprano Jo Sumi, tenor Kim Hyun-soo, violinist Lee Hyun-woong, and the 2025 Season Classic Busan Orchestra and choir. They will perform popular opera arias and orchestral pieces.

On June 8, the second day will have Busan Concert Hall Artistic Director Chung Myung-whun conducting the KBS Symphony Orchestra. They will play Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5 and Piano Concerto No. 5, also known as the “Emperor.” Acclaimed pianist Sunwoo Ye-kwon will be the featured soloist.
