Cody Johnson and his wife, Brandi, are expecting their third child, a baby boy. The country music star, 37, shared the joyful news at the 2025 Academy of Country Music Awards, revealing that the gender reveal and announcement were made together. “We’re having a little boy! We decided to make this our announcement to the world and our gender reveal as well,” he told People. The couple has not yet disclosed when they expect the baby to arrive.
Already a proud father to two daughters, Clara Mae, 10, and Cori, 8, Johnson expressed his excitement about their new addition. “My girls … you can’t beat my girls, I love them with all my heart,” he said. “I’m excited to watch them help raise this little boy.”
The singer also spoke about how he feels financially and professionally more secure now compared to when Clara and Cori were born. “I feel a lot better off now,” he shared. “He’s going to get a horse a little quicker than my kids did. He’s going to get to do some things a little quicker than my daughters did.”
Johnson and Brandi, who have been married for a decade, met as teenagers and have since built a family. They welcomed Clara in 2015 and Cori in 2017. When asked if being a father to a boy was always part of his dream, Johnson immediately responded, “Yes,” laughing as he added, “I didn’t care if this one was a boy or a girl, but I was pretty happy when I saw the gender reveal.”
In a previous interview with People Now, Johnson expressed that he wouldn’t pressure his children to follow in his musical footsteps. “I’ll encourage my girls to do whatever they want to do,” he said.
