At the 2024 CMA Awards, Jelly Roll opened up about the transformative role country music has played in his life.The three-time nominee shared how music has been a vital part of his healing journey. “Music is a healing property in its own regard. It’s therapeutic to me. Music often says what we can’t,” he said. Reflecting on his songwriting, Jelly Roll explained how creating songs like “I’m Not Okay” was meant to resonate with others, offering a message that people could connect to.

The country star, nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, and Album of the Year, noted how his life had drastically changed over the past five years. “For me, it’s been a complete rocket ship,” he said.
