Amidst swirling rumors regarding the possibility of Jay-Z dropping a new album this year, Roc Nation has offered a response to quell the growing speculation.
The conjecture gained traction on Sunday afternoon following an Instagram Story posted by artist and director Hidji World. In the post, Hidji World hinted at being on set with the renowned artist, sharing the message, “shooting today” with Jay-Z. Further fueling the speculation, another Story featured a photo of a first-take film slate bearing the label “JAY Z – 2024 ALBUM,” with Hidji’s name credited as the director and Leroy Farrell listed as the director of photography.
When pressed for confirmation or denial regarding the alleged album release, Roc Nation offered a succinct response, stating, “That’s news to us.”
Jay-Z’s most recent full-length solo album, “4:44,” was released in 2017. In 2018, he collaborated with Beyoncé for the joint project “Everything Is Love” under the moniker The Carters, marking the first collaborative effort from the power couple.
The 54-year-old artist has previously articulated his approach to creating music, emphasizing the importance of meaningful content. In an interview with Gayle King last year, Jay-Z asserted, “I’ll say I wanna make music, but it has to be something important. I don’t wanna just make a bunch of tunes. That’s not gonna serve me. It has to mean something, you know? It has to mean something to a larger society.” As fans eagerly await official confirmation or details from Jay-Z himself, the possibility of a new album in 2024 continues to stir anticipation within the music community.
