Iyer Brothers Awarded OAM for Promoting Indian Classical Music in Australia

Melbourne-based brothers Ramnath Suryanarayana Iyer and Gopinath Suryanarayana Iyer have been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the General Division.

This honour recognises their contribution to Indian classical music. The brothers co-founded and have organised the Melbourne Veena Festival since 2017.

In an interview with SBS Hindi, they explained that this award will support their efforts to promote Indian classical Veena music further.
